As usual, public holidays means time to catch up on whatever things that is neglected during the week; and yesterday was a house cleaning and dogs bathing day!!!
Started off my public holiday with lots of scrubbing of my 2 dogs. See how good they look after a nice scrub?!
Took a drive back to BM with dad and sis in the evening. Actually took a ferry back. It has been such a long time since I last took a ferry!!!
As usual, couldn’t resist taking a few snapshots … view of Penang from the ferry …
… and view of Butterworth from the ferry … Got lost driving from the jetty!!! They changed the route so much already!!!
Dropped by at the new Aeon Shopping Mall (or whatever it is called). Very hugh shopping mall and very spacious inside!!! But nothing much since we have all shops there at QueensBay Mall. Spent a good 15 mins looking for my car!!! Couldn’t find my car when leaving!! =(
Our final stop … Hook Kee Steamboat @ Sungai Rambai. This place has been my all time favourite for steamboat. We usued to go there almost every week for steamboat when we stay in BM.
I just love the chilli sauce they have. Bought a bottle back too!!!
The special garlic oil. Ok, maybe not that special since all steamboat has that.
We ordered a RM30 set, which is actually enough for 2 to 3 persons.
But I must say that they have reduced the ingredients quite a lot since the last time I was there. They used to give more ingredients for RM30. Duckie’s Theory – ‘Do not increase the price but just reduce the ingredients!!’ =(
Big steamboat … at least they don’t use charcoal. Somehow, I prefer gas than charcoal. Don’t like the particles of soot flying into my soup.
Step 1 – Dumping in all the ingredients.
Step 2 – Wait for the soup to boil and ready to eat … and end up all sweaty after finishing the meal!!!
Duckie’s Review :
Food : Used to be better way back then when I was still stying in BM. Still good if compared to those steamboat restaurants in supermarkets in Penang.
Price : No increase in price, but I suppose my theory is right.
